Reproduced below is the Petition to Include All RBI Retirees in 90th Anniversary Coin Distribution

We truly appreciate the Reserve Bank of India’s kind gesture of issuing commemorative silver coins to celebrate its 90th anniversary. It is a proud moment for everyone who has been part of the RBI family. However, many retirees retired before April 1, 2024 feel left out, as they were not included in the distribution of the coins. This has led to the creation of the attached online petition.

Our humble request, signed by 373 retirees, is as follows:

We respectfully request the Reserve Bank of India to extend the 90th-anniversary commemorative silver coins to all retirees who served the institution with dedication.”

From Soiled Notes to Digital Systems – A Reflection Worth Considering

Many of us remember the days when we manually counted soiled currency notes, often under less-than-ideal working conditions. We wrote ledgers with copying pencils, always committed to our duties. Despite the challenges, we have come a long way—from handling soiled notes to the Clean Note Policy, and now to full digitization

This journey reflects the dedication and adaptability of all RBI employees, past and present. As the RBI celebrates its 90th anniversary, we humbly urge the management to reflect on this shared legacy—especially while considering the decision to exclude a section of retirees from receiving the commemorative coin. Every retiree played a part in this transformation, and their contributions deserve recognition.
