Exciting news for RBI pensioners aged 60 and above! The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced significant improvements to its Group Mediclaim Policy (GMP) as detailed below:
1. Wider Coverage:
- Eligibility expanded: Previously, only pensioners aged 70 and above were covered. Now, all pensioners aged 60 and above are eligible to join GMP.
- Out-patient department (OPD) expenses covered: Starting April 1, 2024, pensioners aged 60+ can claim OPD expenses under the policy, making healthcare more accessible.
2. Enhanced Sum Insured:
Personal promotion (PP) shall be considered for determining sum insured limit to a higher grade: The sum insured will be grade wise, age-wise and on a family floater basis as given in chart below.
- This means potentially higher coverage. Better healthcare access means a healthier and happier retirement. Take advantage of the improved GMP in the years to come.
- Spread the word: Share this information with fellow RBI pensioners who might benefit from these changes.
- By expanding eligibility, covering OPD expenses, and considering PP, the GMP offers more comprehensive and flexible healthcare protection for a wider range of pensioners.
- Overall, the recent improvements in updating retirees’ Pension and Family Pension, and the changes in GMP reflect RBI’s commitment to enhancing the well-being of its retired employees.
- AIRBIOPF is thankful to RBI for its positive attitude towards retirees’ welfare.
Further details in the matter will be communicated to the members /subscribers in due course.
