RBI has recently made a significant modification to the Master circular Para 12.1
Master Circular modified:
As per para 12.1 the dispensary facility such as free treatment and issue of drugs on credit slips as per norms is accessible only at Centers where regular full-fledged dispensaries in charge of part-time BMOs/ BMCs are established with arrangements for stocking of drugs, medicines, etc.
This facility has now been extended to members also at centers where the bank has arrangement with private medical practitioners for issue of special drugs to staff on credit slips, and also at Staff colonies where BMO/ BMC attends for the limited purpose of prescribing medicines to be obtained from the Office dispensary or on credit slips.
