Sh. R K Mishra, who opted for OERS in 2003, passed away due to a sudden cardiac attack on 19th April 2020 , at his residence in Lucknow. He was Zonal secretary of Retirees Association at Lucknow . He represented Lucknow unit at the 3rd All India conference of OERS optees under AIRBIOPF held at Kolkata in November 2008. He supported the fight waged by OERS optees throughout India against Income Tax authorities. The case was finally decided by Supreme Court in favour of Optees.

Mishraji, a popular leader, fearless organiser, and a skillful orator, led many a historic struggles for staff of RBI at Kanpur and Lucknow. Even after his retirement, he remained committed to the cause of trade union .
Being a member of facebook group ‘X-Rbite’, he regularly viewed and commented on the posts. He was a source of inspiration and support to all the members.
He donated his body for medical research.
