RBI Dispensaries & Medicine Delivery
RBI has reviewed instructions about dispensaries and medicine delivery systems by their letter dated April 7. 2026 . The instructions ensure that dispensary facilities for employees and retirees continue smoothly and without any reduction in services. This includes both dispensary operations and the system of home delivery of medicines in offices where it is already in place.
✔️ What Retirees Should Know
- Dispensaries will continue to function normally, with no curtailment of medical facilities.
- Home delivery of medicines will continue wherever this system is already operational.
- Delivery timelines remain same‑day or next‑day, and up to two days for distant locations.
- Exact prescribed medicines must be supplied. Any substitute can be given only with the approval of the Bank’s Medical Officer.
- Medicines delivered must have adequate remaining shelf life, comparable to the current model.
- Pharmacies supplying medicines will continue to be reputed, empanelled vendors to ensure quality and reliability.
✔️ Why This Matters
For many retirees—especially those with mobility issues or chronic conditions—timely access to medicines is essential. The latest instructions reaffirm the Bank’s commitment to uninterrupted medical support and reliable medicine delivery.
